We are always looking for opportunities to set us apart from other hosting companies. We take our client suggestions seriously and strive to ensure the best possible hosting experience.
Over the past few years, we have asked for feedback on how to improve our Client Portal from our development partners and clients. One of the most common suggestions was to allow multiple logins to a single Client Portal account.
We are pleased to announce that later this week, the multiple-user Client Portal login feature will be available to all of our Portal users.
You will notice more changes to the Client Portal over the next few months. Most importantly, by the end of the week, you will no longer see the Contacts option under the Client Information section of your Portal. Instead, you will see two new options: one for Users, and another for User Roles.
By default, the primary account holder will be the Superuser, which provides unrestricted access to the account. User Roles were established to permit or restrict access to sections of the Client Portal. All users will have at least one User Role. The Superuser can use the default roles Superuser, Billing, Technical, or define new roles as necessary.
You can add new users under the Users section. At that time, you will choose the appropriate User Role or Roles and the system will send an email invite to the new user. An invited user can choose to use an existing account to log in or create a new one.
In practice, this means you can invite a developer to your account and restrict their access as needed. In addition, developers can manage multiple client accounts from a single account by selecting the Switch option from the Actions menu in the Client Portal.
We doubt you will miss the days of confusing multiple Client Portal usernames and shared login credentials. We look forward to adding more features to our Client Portal that make each and every client’s experience as enjoyable as possible. As always, we appreciate your feedback, and ask you to email our Support Team with your suggestions.Posted in: Nexcess
